·     Revised current school-issued course profiles, unit and lesson plans in accordance with the Ontario Curriculum guidelines for Canadian Accredited Independent Schools and Ontario Ministry of Education inspections.  Also carefully integrated media and technology components into all teaching materials.

·     Responsible for parent-teacher communication and follow-up for students, assisting senior students develop portfolios for post-secondary applications, budgeting for classroom art materials and processed report card and progress reports.

·     Successfully organized and executed field trips and weekly extra-curricular visual arts period activities for both day and residential boarding students. Framed, installed and rotated featured artworks for school display.

· Classroom education was carefully tailored to  meet and accommodate multi-level ESL learners and their individual learning  styles.  

· Used assistive technology such as SMART Board, and PowerPoint to generate interest and engage students in the course material.

· Utilized my specific knowledge of Design to  generate a grade 9 Visual Arts assignment where students studied various  media outlets then had to design and silk-screen their own logos.

 · Extensive training in Photography allowed me  to teach the grade 11 class about famous photographers and how to make ‘photograms’.

 · Successfully planned and assisted in other  school related projects such as the Halton Mock Trial Tournament, Stephen  Lewis presentation, environmental club and school mural development.
 

Queenston Drive Public School
 2008                       Core Grade 6                     Mississauga, ON    

· Initiated and effectively organized and  executed an off-site school excursion to the Living Arts Centre, which  focused on the Visual Arts curriculum.

 · Prepared and ran an arts integrated science  unit with daily lesson plans, materials and activities that engaged and  stimulated brain-based learning.

 · Had the privilege and opportunity to nominate  students to receive awards for the arts for a school recognition assembly.


 David Leeder Middle School

 · Taught a variety of self-created lesson plans  at the grade 7 level for core subjects including Math, Language Arts, Social  Studies and ESL.

· Successfully designed, implemented and  evaluated a rotary Visual Arts unit to which explored Print Media and Design  for six grade 7 classes.

 · Independently contracted as a graphic designer to conceptually create promotional materials for their recording clients.  

· Successfully designed items such as posters, postcards and CD labels and were mass produced for regional distribution.  

· This job taught me how to work creatively with a client to produce a product that was both appealing and successfully marketable.


Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning
 2006-2007           Assistant Studio Technician          Oakville, ON

 · Maintained the print shop and utilized communication skills with senior level students, which enabled me to help them express their ideas and visions through print media techniques. 
 
· Put in charge of cutting paper, preparing demonstrations for professors, as well as sell materials to first year students.

· Developed and learned new printmaking techniques that I can now pass along to my students.
